2009's Record Shattering Performance

The Ambassadors of Harmony - 76 Trombones (arr. D. Wright)

The Ambassadors received the highest score ever awarded (97.56) for this performance and broke the Vocal Majority's string of 11 consecutive championships over the last 33 years.  (Champions cannot compete for the two following years.) 

The Vocal Majority (VM) received a record score but it was not enough to win.  The VM will compete again at the convention in Philadelphia in 2010.  This will be a rematch between the Westminster Chorus and the Vocal Majority.  The VM won their first serious head-to-head contest against Westminster in 2006.  Westminster went on to win the championship in 2007 and will compete again in 2010.
